Have you ever seen an ad that’s clearly trying to be funny… but failing oh so miserably? Laugh Your Ads Off is here to fix that. It’s a workshop series at the intersection of standup and advertising, blending real comedians with real ad pros to figure out how humor actually works — and how to use it to make funnier, better, less soul-sucking work. Part show, part therapy, part escape from your divorce proceedings.
Laugh Your Ads Off is back in LA, and this time we're getting into it: comedy isn't one thing. It's weird and dry and visual and absurd and improvised and illustrated, and the best creative people know which flavor to reach for.
On April 9th at Mother, we're bringing in comedian and cartoonist Ramin Nazer and performers from Second City to make that case in the most entertaining way possible. Which is to say, by actually being funny.
There will be drinks, snacks, and alcohol for childish adults. You will not go hungry or sober.
Come for the laughs. Leave with a better argument for why you're smarter than your client.
